Interior Inspiration

One of the most exciting things for me about flathunting is the prospect of making our space our own. In Germany, I was never inspired to decorate much as I knew anything I bought or used would have to be left behind. But now I'm desperate for some pretty walls and space to live in! I have no idea what 'decorating parameters' I'll have in our new place but for now I'm dreaming of art covered walls and collections. And guess what?? We're probably moving this weekend!! We found a place! A lovely old 3 storey house, in an amazing room with lots of character! Can't wait :)
The 'temporary' living feeling is still there because we don't really know how long we'll be here for, (1 year, 2 years, 5 years?) but my care factor about worrying how we'll eventually get stuff back to NZ or wherever we end up is pretty low and I'm going to assume we're here for a long time ;)
P.S.

Loooove all of those bits of inspiration! Particularly that jewelry holder made from an old letterpress type draw. Neat!

Thats the hardest thing about living over here and not back home, the not knowing if you will have to suddenly get home and have so much stuff. I've been here 7 years and I still have that feeling. And I have a rabbit and a budgie to worry about now! Its a bit scarey but generally you have to live for the now. I have so much crap. There is no way I could get it all back to NZ if I had to. Just focus on making a nice space and loving it while you can and worry about logistics later is my advice!!!! x
