Peek At My Trip: BALI, Indonesia

Hi! I'm still away adventuring! Again, instead of Peek At My Week I'm doing Peek At My Trip!
Today is BALI, Indonesia where we went in June 2010. Here's some of my holiday snaps and things to do! :)

We covered Lombok, Gilli Islands (we stayed on Gili Trawangan), Kuta, and did a big bike tour from Mount Batur down to Kuta.

It was awesome- and so hot + sticky that we had to keep ducking into air-conditioned shops! Not that I minded... we also made sure our hotels had air-con and a pool. If they didn't..... Ciao. Total necessities in that heat. You'll notice that my hair straightener was nowhere to be seen too.... It was hard, but I got through :p
Buuuut....even though we were being careful and not eating meat and having no ice in our drinks etc.... we got sick. The dreaded Bali Belly. Like, really sick- can't move- have to call room-service to bring us panadol and water- you don't wanna know the rest type sick..... for 3 days and 4 nights. Alot of time spent watching crappy TV when we could have been adventuring!! Which was so sad.... but we managed to jam pack a heap of fun inbetween!

Don't let that put you off!! And if you plan on going to Bali you NEED to go to the Gili Islands. It was the best part by far, we gave up our already paid for hotel room and short flight to Lombok in order to stay an extra day and night there. The beach and views are like something from a movie, and everyone is SO laid back and friendly (and hilarious!) I'm scared of the ocean but I went snorkelling! Jumping out of a glass bottomed boat and floating above turtles and amongst tropical fish is worth the (silly) fear! I could go on and on, if you're going there or to Bali feel free to email me if you want some tips! :)
