I LOOOVE Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events!

It's definitely in my top ten favourite films, I'm obsessed with the whimsical style, colours and the narrative style of the movie. My favourite bit is when they go to Uncle Monty's, because he's an explorer and his house is like a botanic garden or a green-house, and I freak over that kind of stuff. 

I love how whenever Violet has to come up with something to fix whatever predicament they're in, she ties her hair up with a ribbon and makes a quick but elaborate plan to use nearby objects as a life-saving strategy. And then proceeds to kick ass in the prettiest way.

 

 

I love the challenge of 'making do' with everyday things, and if you are a DIYer or not, I hope this quote inspires you to look twice at everyday or vintage objects, and to make something amazing from things you never thought could have a second life!

Even if it isn't a master plan defying gravity on a house falling off a cliff with your baby sister and little brother on it.... You totally need to watch this film of you haven't yet :)

On a side note.... I haven't read the books yet but I'm DYING to!
